Title Research: Glass

 While researching the website “Art of the Title” I found the opening sequence to “Glass.” Glass is a sci-fi movie. Therefore, it has many similarities with the opening movie sequence we are trying to create. In this opening sequence it shows many people that participated in the film to make it possible. This movie was released in 2019 making the editing, sound, etc. are fairly popular to this day. This means that this opening sequence leaves us with lots of inspiration and ideas at our fingertips. This title sequence started just how every other start of a movie would be. It jumps right into the scene it wants to open with. The title then shows up and fades away fairly quickly. As this is happening the names of the cast and participants then start showing up on the screen. You can tell that this movie is going to be a sci-fi by the dialogue heard as well as the music in the opening title sequence. The music used in this opening sequence is only a beat. The beat has a sense of suspense to it. As well as the scene playing behind the music. The music gives you a sense of nervousness or excitement as it continues to play throughout the opening sequence. The characters are also slowly being introduced in the opening sequence as you get the first look of them in this movie. There are many tracking shots used in the first scene of this opening sequence. This allows the audience to see where the character is going as well as making their own predictions on the character themself. In this movie they used audience appealing visuals and sounds. For example, the beat/music playing in the background as well as the character being lit up while everything else seems much darker or more dimmed. Technology was efficiently used in this opening sequence when the names of the actors showed up on the screen. In conclusion, this opening sequence was very beneficial for us to watch and study. This sequence allowed us to gain inspiration and ideas that we can use in our own film.
