Using the website “art of the title” I found the opening sequence of “I, Robot” to watch and see if it had anything that would benefit our opening title. I chose to do this movie because it had the same genre as ours. While it does not match how our film would be, it still gives an unobstructed view of dealing with the unknown. When answering questions like what titles are in the opening sequence it is seen that the name of the movie is in it as well as the director, actors, producers, and the studio that produced the film. Another question to answer is what connotations these images carry. In the opening sequence, the film starts out with animated scenes of the stuff that seems to go with robots, more on the technological side. After, it suddenly cuts to a woman who is underwater and drowns while stuck in a car. Not much more is shown other than a few clips of the woman leaving the audience questioning and wondering what is happening and wanting for more. Doing this will keep the audience interested and want to continue watching the movie. The genre is reinforced as a science fiction film when you see the robot, while only for a few seconds, on the screen for the first time. Helps the audience realize that it will do with science fiction as robots in real life look nothing like the one seen in the opening sequence. The target audience of the film is interested in science fiction and are of the younger generation such as teenagers. Teenagers are quickly known to lose interest so to appeal to the audience, they added mystery to it. It is only questions of who the woman is, as well as why she was in the water and where the robot came from. All these questions would circle through the audience's mind, keeping them focused and drawing their attention. The opening sequence is important to the film as it helps transition the movie into the main plot. This opening movie sequence, while a lot animated, has given a lot of information on how our opening sequence will be structured. While we will not be using the animated parts, we will focus on the mystery they added. This film has helped us see what we will not be adding to our movie as well as what we should be. Hopefully, people will be able to enjoy the opening
